We know that measuring the impact of learning programs matters, but the majority of organizations aren’t doing a good job of it. In fact, only 44 percent of talent development professionals think their learning evaluation efforts are helping them reach organizational learning goals. An even smaller percentage, 36 percent, think their learning evaluation efforts help them meet organizational business goals.

Recognizing the need for more effective evaluation efforts that drive the success of learning programs and the business overall, this webcast dives deeper into the types of measurements organizations are taking, the programs that are being evaluated, and the specific approaches and tools being used. It also takes a close look at what characterizes successful evaluation efforts. In addition, the webcast discusses the limited budgeting for evaluation, the challenges talent development leaders face in recruiting and retaining staff with the necessary skills to conduct meaningful evaluations, and other barriers to successful evaluation. Finally, the webcast presents recommendations for overcoming these roadblocks and maximizing the impact and effectiveness of evaluation efforts.

Maria Ho, research manager at ATD, oversees ATD's portfolio of research on talent development. ATD's research department tracks trends, informs decisions, and connects research to practice and performance.
