This webcast is based on the recently released report from ATD and the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), titled MOOCs: Expanding the Scope of Organizational Learning. The report explores the current and anticipated use of MOOCs (massive open online courses) in the business world.

As CEO of i4cp, Kevin provides strategic direction and vision, and is responsible for the overall operations of the organization. Kevin has been a pioneer in the human capital field for the last 15 years, and is a frequent author and international keynote speaker on topics such as talent management, leadership, innovation, metrics and strategic learning in organizations.

Prior to founding i4cp, Kevin created SumTotal Systems, (NASDAQ: SUMT), the world's largest learning management system company and the industry's leading provider of talent development solutions, when he merged Click2learn (NASDAQ: CLKS) with Docent (NASDAQ: DCNT) in 2003. The merger won Frost & Sullivan's Competitive Strategy Award in 2004.

Prior to the formation of SumTotal, Kevin was the Chairman & CEO of Click2learn, which was founded in 1985 by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft. Earlier in his career, Kevin was president and founder of Oakes Interactive, an award-winning, technology-based training company in Needham, Massachusetts. Kevin also founded TopShelf Multimedia, a distributor of off-the-shelf e-Learning titles, and Acorn Consulting, a strategic consulting organization. All three companies merged with Click2learn (then called Asymetrix) in 1997, which Kevin helped take public a year later.

Kevin was also the 2006 Chair of the national American Society of Training & Development (ASTD) board, and served five years as an ASTD board member. Kevin was also the 2008 ASTD Board Selection Committee Chair. ASTD is the largest association in the world dedicated to workplace learning and performance, and its global membership reaches over 70,000 members. Kevin is also an advisory board member of Intrepid, a Seattle-based provider of outsourced workplace productivity solutions, and he serves on the board of Longworth Ventures, a Boston-area venture capital firm.

Amy Rouse is a Director with AT&T University’s Operations Training team. Amy’s organization provides vision, support, training, consultation, and services that help clients do their jobs better. This includes content design and development, emerging learning technology research, analysis, upgrade and implementation, formal certification programs and training for Designers and Instructors, project management, media productions services such as editing, graphics, video, and 3d modeling, and more.


With over 20 years experience in the learning space, Amy derives great satisfaction from helping people and groups connect the dots between learning technology and business solutions, resulting in more proficient and engaged learners. Whether the company is selecting, implementing, upgrading or integrating new learning tools, processes or technologies, Amy’s analytical insight and visionary perspective, as well as her depth and breadth of knowledge and experience, allow her clients to create a holistic learning strategy customized to meet the specific needs of their learners, organization, or company. Her current areas of passion are in the areas of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Interactive Video Learning (IVL), disruptive education, and the global standardization of digital badges.
