Description:
Vestibular/Balance Dysfunction in Sports-Related Concussion - this eAudiology Web Seminar will review current theoretical explanations for the dizziness and imbalance often reported following sports-related concussion. Unfortunately, vestibular diagnostic results are highly variable in this population, which leads to difficulties in patient management. This presentation will discuss the theories available to explain this variability and what we can do to standardize a minimum test battery for concussion. Variations between pediatric and adult protocols will be emphasized. Case examples will highlight the patterns of vestibular and balance dysfunction often noted in patients following concussion.
